Update: Apex Legends Arenas

28-04-2021

Arenas is a new permanent game mode that is coming to Apex Legends ™ as part of the upcoming Legacy update. It condenses the chaos of the matches of 20 squads of Battle Royale mode in 3-on-3 combat. In it, you will face enemies without any other squad arriving to spoil the party, allowing you to focus on surviving and winning the fight. You will compete for several rounds, looking for cheese the last standing squad every time.

Before each round begins, you will use the materials obtained during the previous round to obtain and upgrade weapons, as well as explosives and healing supplies.

After customizing your gear and preparing for the round, you get right into the action. If you are eliminated in one round, your squad will not be able to respawn you. However, you will be able to fight again at the beginning of the next round. You can still revive someone on your team who is on the floor. You win the round by killing everyone in the enemy squad. The next round begins, and the cycle is repeated until a squad wins the game.

WINNING MATCHES IN THE ARENAS

To win an Arenas match, you need to win at least three rounds and be two points ahead of the enemy team.

The easiest way is to win three rounds without losing more than one round to your opponents. In other words, 3-0 or 3-1, and the game is over. However, if your opponents manage to win at least two rounds, things start to get interesting. In that case, you will need to take advantage of two whole rounds to win.

A score of 3-2 or 4-3 is not enough. Instead, you're going to have to get a 4-2 or 5-3 to guarantee victory. The rounds will continue until a team is two rounds ahead. If this continues until the ninth round (in the case of 4-4), the game will proceed to Sudden Death mode. Whoever wins round nine takes home all the glory.

EQUIP FOR BATTLE

In defeat or in victory, each round begins with basic equipment and some materials to use.

Decide how to handle the next round using your materials to obtain weapons, upgrade them, and pick up the additional supplies you need. The materials awarded increase progressively with each round, which offers more options and improvements for players as the game progresses.

Don't worry, materials cannot be purchased. You need to get them by playing and completing rounds.

Weapons are not kept from one round to the next. This was debated and, in the end, respawn decided to use this design for two reasons: 1) giving the option for those who play to switch weapons freely between rounds and 2) preventing a squad from becoming too strong after one or two rounds.

About the skills: Use your Supreme and Tactics skills wisely, as you will have a limited number of uses each round, instead of reloading them indefinitely as in other modes. Legends start with only a few charges of Tactical skill, but additional charges and Supreme ability can be purchased with materials when it comes to customizing your equipment. This allows more Legends to be viable in the Arenas and forces characters with very strong Tactical ability (such as Bloodhound) to make choices between weapon upgrades or more tactical skill loads.

Don't worry, Supreme charges and unused Tactics will be passed on to the next round.
